Mandatory jail sentence awaits pirated VCD peddlers

KUALA LUMPUR: Manufacturers and peddlers of pirated software may face a mandatory jail sentence if a proposal by the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry gets through Parliament.

Its Deputy Minister S. Veerasingam said the matter is being debated before it is brought to the Cabinet for consideration.
