EVEN the normally quiet Lin Dan (left) lost his nerve in his third
round win over Malaysia's Mohd Hafiz Hashim in the Malaysian Open at
the Sukpa Stadium in Kuantan last night.
For the showman was losing his temper and, in the process, could
have lost the match against a rejuvenated Hafiz.
Lin Dan is well-known for his attention-getting theatrics, which
include pirouetting after diving to make a shot and, more famously,
saluting his opponent after a win.
But all these were missing as Lin Dan struggled to overcome Hafiz,
winning 17-14, 15-13 to set up a quarter-final clash against South
