Sacrifice - a noble, virtuous act

EVERY year, when the month of Zulhijjah arrives, I am reminded of
the significance of the month and the lessons offered from the
incident of Prophet Ibrahim sacrificing his son, Prophet Ismail.
It is easy to understand what sacrifice means. Simply, it is
parting with something you hold on to, dearly for the sake of someone
else who needs it most. In reality, it is more than that. Among
others, it calls for total sincerity in giving, not expecting any
returns nor a compliment or gain, name or fame. The giving may be
