Oscar 1932 and 1933

ONLY once has there been two winners for Best Actor in the same year and that happened at the 5th Academy Awards on Nov 18, 1932 at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, and the way the tie was revealed was quite dramatic.

Fredric March was named Best Actor for 1932's Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde, followed by MGM mogul Louis B. Mayer collecting the Best Picture prize for Grand Hotel, and after that was it discovered, and announced, that, Wallace Beery for The Champ had only one vote less than March and was also entitled to the Oscar because, at the time, up to three votes difference meant a tie.
