Houghton end Royal unbeaten run in Durham Cup quarters

Stepy's Coaches Durham Sunday League THE league had two clubs in the last eight of the Durham FA Sunday Cup with Houghton Glendale Social travelling to the unbeaten leaders of the Stanley Sunday League, Stanley Royal.

The Royal expected to go all the way to the final but were dumped out of the competition by the hard-working Glendale. Glendale took the lead in the 30th minute when Chris Hall fired home a penalty and increased it in the 70th minute when Phil Oliver scored a much- deserved goal. Glendale winning the tie 2-0 and progressing into the semi-finals.
