Town centre management shake-up bid

BUSINESS chiefs are planning a shake-up of town centre management to make Darlington one of the region's top shopping destinations.

Town centre management was established five years ago, and a review of how Darlington could be at the forefront of the North-East trading sector was launched last year.

The review sought to create a more stable financial structure for town centre management and organise affairs so Darlington could be an early "business improvement district".
