SECURITY is to be increased in a town centre that has gained a reputation as a hotspot for antisocial behaviour.Traders are concerned that more than a third of the shops and offices in the centre of Newton Aycliffe are empty, with many boarded up.But the town centre management team has announced the introduction of a town- based security team to help combat the fear of crime in the area."As part of an ongoing co-operation with the police and services, we have decided to trial the use of town centre-based security staff to support shopkeepers and members of the public over the busy Christmas ...
