A year ago, Chinese springboard diver and 1988 Olympic champion
Gao Min didn't want to be in these Olympics. Her shoulders ached and
her abdominal muscles burned from years of eight-hour-a-day
practices.
Coach Xu Yi Ming persuaded Gao to take one more plunge in
international competition. Today, Gao, 21, leaped for her last
glory, dominating the Olympic springboard competition, giving her
country its second sweep of women's Olympic diving gold medals and
