Norman Farquhar Dies at 71; Chevy Chase Bank President
|
Norman Farquhar, 71, a former investment banker who was
president of Chevy Chase Bank from 1988 to November 1991, died of
cancer July 14 at Georgetown University Hospital. A life-long
resident of the Washington area, he lived in the District.
He was a former partner at the Alex. Brown & Sons investment
banking firm, where he also had been a sales representative and D.C.
branch manager. Early in his career, he worked for the First
National Bank of Sandy Spring.
Mr. Farquhar was born in Olney. He was a graduate of Episcopal
High School in Alexandria, the University of Virginia and what is
