Sea around Scylla now not so black
|
Marine species of vivid colours with exotic names are making the
waters off the Westcountry coast their home.
Among them is the rare species Trapania maculate, which has been
seen in UK waters only twice before.
The brightly-coloured purple and orange sea slug has been spotted
at the wreck of HMS Scylla off the coast of South East Cornwall.
And, according to experts, there will undoubtedly be more
additions to the species list in the future as storms create new
opportunities for incoming creatures which are swept off their normal
path.
