Duchy marathon in good health as hundreds prepare to run

In 1998 twenty seven runners finished the Duchy Marathon and the event was in danger of disappearing from the road race calendar.

This Sunday a combined field of over 400 runners will line up for the 31st Duchy Marathon and the Duchy 20.

The marathon, round three of the Cornwall Grand Prix Road Race series sponsored by the St Austell Physical Therapy Centre, begins at 10.30am from the Penventon Park Hotel in Redruth with the runners following a gently undulating two lap course, which heads out towards the North Cliffs, before turning inland through Tehidy and Pool and then rejoining the main ...
