Police dog helped to find woman lost on moor

A police dog has been praised after it helped to locate a woman who went missing in "difficult conditions" on Dartmoor.

Newton Abbot-based dog handler PC Steve Dutton said that because of conditions on the moors, it was only because of his dog Indie that the woman was located in time.

The Met Office said there would have been a large amount of hill fog on the moors which may have hampered officers' attempts to find the woman. Temperatures of just 8C faced the woman and police on the moors during the evening.

Police had been making enquiries about a "high-risk" 38-year-old woman from the Exeter ...
