Tuscany's Renaissance Master; Celebrating the Perspective of Piero della Francesca

While celebrations are being prepared this year on both sides of the Atlantic to commemorate one Italian's great discovery, many art lovers in Italy are honoring another countryman who coincidentally died the very day that Columbus set foot in the New World.

In honor of the 500th anniversary of his death, the Renaissance painter Piero della Francesca is now being celebrated via a number of exhibits, conferences and restorations in the Tuscan cities in which he painted.
