Greenslade Taylor Hunt's next Fine Art sale in Taunton, on
Tuesday, November 14, will include a large Vienna bronze of a tiger
hunting group by Franz Bergmann - probably the best known name in
Vienna bronze manufacture. He is believed to have started modelling
and casting figures in the late 1850s using the cire perdue (lost
wax) method of hollow casting.
The figures were engraved, polished and cold painted in the form
of birds, dogs, frogs, insects, figure groups, Blackamoors and man...
