A rare breed of moth, which was immortalised in the blockbuster film The Silence of the Lambs, has been spotted in a Westcountry garden.

The large death's head hawk moth was discovered in the garden of a resident in Marldon, near Paignton, and was identified by Lisa Brunwin, an education ranger with wildlife charity Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust.
