A top kitesurfer is set to travel to an exotic island to compete against the world's best competitors for the richest prize in the sport.

Andreya Wharry, from Newquay, is about to fly out to Fiji to take part in the eight-day Cindy Mosey Island Odyssey event for a share of the 12,000 prize.

The all-female adventure will feature 12 of the best kitesurfers in the world competing in several kitesurfing events, including racing between islands.
