Gala weekend on moor railway
|
Hundreds of train enthusiasts are expected to descend on
Okehampton for Dartmoor Railway's first Diesel Gala next month.
The event, which will bring locomotives from the Bodmin and
Wenford Railway, as well as some from closer to the railway's home in
West Devon, takes place on Saturday and Sunday, October 14 and 15.
Among special attractions are diesel locomotives 37142 and 37198,
which last worked the passenger train together in 1988. A spokesman
for Dartmoor Railway said: "I expect the 750 or so enthusiasts we
expect at the event will enjoy seeing them working once more."
