Clans gather for Loch Ness charity paddle
|
Highland explorers of Canada were commemorated in a 15-mile paddle
yesterday which raised money for a cancer charity.
Canadian birch-bark canoes, named after famous Highland explorers
Sir Alexander Mackenzie and Simon Fraser, were paddled from Loch Ness
to Inverness by members of the Mackenzie and Fraser clans to raise
money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
A third canoe on the charity effort was crewed by members of the
MacMillan clan. The clansmen are in Inverness for a gathering of
their clans over the Tulloch Highland Games weekend at the city's
Bught Park.
