Education bosses have increased spending on a school meals programme by almost pounds500,000 over the last three years despite fluctuating uptake numbers, it has been revealed.

Aberdeenshire Council invested almost pounds1.4million in the Hungry for Success programme this school year but the number of pupils eating at school has fallen by 1.6% since 2004-05.
