crucial part in determining a long-running land battle between a
crofter and his island neighbours.
A hearing opened at Oban yesterday to decide whether numerous
gardens and a house lie on Coll's common grazing land without the
Resumption Order which is necessary under crofting law.
And if the court agrees with Colin Kennedy, the island's sole
crofter, about where the common grazing boundaries lie, he could be
awarded compensation of half the market value of any land which has
been wrongly developed.
