Highland areas named in report on deprivation

The number of areas of the Highlands ranked amongst the most
deprived parts of Scotland has doubled over the past two years,
according to a report issued yesterday.
Politicians claimed last night that the Scottish Index of Multiple
Deprivation proved the north was losing out to the central belt and
its needs were not being measured properly.
