Airport flies high with new route and hotel interest

The huge growth of Inverness Airport was underlined yesterday with the announcement of more flights and major interest in building the adjoining business park's first hotel.

Budget airline Ryanair said it was launching another new low-cost service - this time between the Highlands and Nottingham East Midlands. It is expected to carry more than 40,000 passengers in its first year.

The announcement came just two days after the start of the airline's new daily service between Inverness and Liverpool.
