Dunkeld hydro-power scheme back on agenda

A Hydro-power scheme opposed by more than 100 watersports fans worldwide will go back before Perth and Kinross Council next week after delays with the application.

Proposals by Npower to set up a 3.4megawatt generator at the River Braan, near Dunkeld, were put on hold when the firm withdrew its application from the development control committee meeting agenda in July, to allow time for representations to be prepared.

The scheme will be determined by the Scottish Executive but could go to public inquiry if the council objects.
