Concern over police storage of dna samples

E Yorks: Concerns about the rates of DNA samples stored by Humberside Police have been raised at a police authority meeting.

Humberside Police Authority has commissioned a report into the level of samples taken by the force, and how many samples from innocent people are retained.

Independent member Shwan Abdul Rahman called for the report at meeting of the performance scrutiny committee.

He said: "We need to monitor this data. It's a big concern for me and a national concern as well."
