Coming of Age;The Renwick Celebrates 20 Years Of Craft Art

In 1972, the Renwick Gallery didn't have a single object in its permanent collection. Twenty years later, the collection has grown to more than 300 objects representing some of the most important artists today in the fields of design, decorative arts and craft.

So it's not surprising that Michael Monroe is more than a little bit pleased when he points to "Ghost," a sculptural piece by Wendell Castle displayed in his office on the first floor of the gallery at 16th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW and one of the outstanding works in the Renwick's collection.
