GIVEN the overwhelming evidence that their Euro 2008 prospects had
been killed before lunch was served, any Scot with patriotic blood in
their veins was in need of something to lighten the mood after being
numbed by that merciless qualifying draw in the Montreux Convention
Centre on Friday.
An attempt at levity came from the unlikely source of Michel
Platini. Referring to the fact the 2007 Rugby World Cup may render
the Stade de France unavailable when Scotland are due to play in
