Fear and loathing in a town called carbuncle Cumbernauld is 'dismal' place

EVERY local seems to have an opinion on what could be done to improve Cumbernauld: unfortunately, the general consensus seems to be to knock it down and start again.

For the second time in a row, the town has been named the most dismal in Scotland. It had the dubious honour of winning the Plook On The Plinth prize in the quadrennial Carbuncle Awards, which allow the public to nominate the area or monstrosity they consider to be Scotland's biggest eyesore.

Council leaders, unsurprisingly, have been quick to jump to Cumbernauld's defence.
