NSW: Botany Bay chemical spill under control: Carr

SYDNEY, Aug 31 AAP - NSW Premier Bob Carr today said the company responsible for a
serious chemical spill at Botany Bay is now confident the bay will be saved from pollution.

Mr Carr said he has had three meetings with chemical maker Orica over concerns about
a tide of ethylene dichloride that has spilled from its plant.

The company had approached state government requesting that it cut through red tape
to allow the spill to be dealt with quickly.
