Beach Gaelic Football Arrives in New York

THE first ever Beach Gaelic Football Tournament will take place this
Sunday, May 23, in Long Beach, New York. This tournament is the brain child
of the Long Island Gaels, and as far as Paddy Lonergan, one of the
tournament organizers, knows, his is the first time Gaelic football will be
played in this way, in a competitive manner.

"Weather permitting it should prove to be a great day out," he said.

The eight clubs competing in this seven-a-side tournament are drawn mainly
from the junior ranks and include the Brooklyn Shamrocks, Cavan, Derry,
Dublin, Long Island ...
