"When I go to a museum, I never know whether I should be looking at the
paintings or at the wall paint," jokes Carole Zawatsky.

Call it an occupational hazard but this aesthetic sensibility, honed during
a long career in museum education, will no doubt aid her when she assumes
the role of executive director of Cleveland's Maltz Museum of Jewish
Heritage in August.

"As director, I will have the opportunity to have global vision," says the
petite brunette who is currently director of education at The Jewish Museum
in New York and spoke to this reporter ...
