WA: Christmas Island declares war on government over casino ban

PERTH, July 26 AAP - Union leaders on tiny Christmas Island are promising to continue
their war with the federal government over its decision to keep the island's casino closed.

At the height of its popularity in the mid-1990s, the casino on the island, 2600km
north-west of Perth, was one of the world's most profitable, with Asian gamblers spending
billions of dollars on its tables.
