Though he never lived or worked here, sculptor Jacques Lipchitz had a relationship with Philadelphia that endured for half a century and drew a collection of his work unrivaled in most of the world to the region's museums, public parks and the downtown area.

An exhibition at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, on view through Aug. 22, showcases 60 sculptures and works on paper by the Lithuanian-born modern sculptor. Lipchitz lived in New York and Paris but had great affection for Philadelphia and its people and ...
