On the shore of the Hudson River in Weehawken, New Jersey, descendants of Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr re-enacted the duel that took place 200 years ago today. Hamilton, a Founding Father and the country's first secretary of the Treasury, was killed. Burr, a Revolutionary War hero and vice president to Thomas Jefferson, was politically ruined.
