Friday, June 25, 2004 -- After getting tipped off about a sighting of parsnips in my local branch of Mega, I zoomed over there late one night only to be disappointed - again.

Enough hide-and-seek. I found the manager of the fruit and vegetable department leaning like a lord against the watermelon stand, directing the packing away of produce for the night.

"Shalom. Do you know what parsnips are?"

"Parz-neep? How do you say it in Hebrew?"
