On June 19, 1846, the New York Knickerbockers and the New York Nine sporting clubs played each other under what would evolve into the rules that govern a game called baseball today. It's believed by some to be the first baseball game and it was played on the Knickerbockers' diamond in Hoboken, New Jersey, called Elysian Field.
