BAGHDAD, June 4 (Xinhua) -- An Iraqi expert team has been created to
help organize the national elections early next year, an official of the
United Nations told a press conference on Friday.
The commission consisted of eight members, chosen from nearly 2, 000
Iraqi lawyers, journalists, professors and activists, said Carina Perelli,
a senior UN electoral expert.
The electoral commission is to be supervised by a UN observer, who
will attend the board's meetings but have no vote, she added.
