SINGAPORE, May 7 (Xinhua) -- Singapore welcomed about 1.9 million foreign
visitors in the first quarter of this year, a 3 percent increase at least
as compared to the corresponding period of last year.
Announcing this at the 12th annual dinner of the Association of
Singapore Attractions here Friday, Singapore's Minister of State for Trade
and Industry Vivian Balakrishnan voiced his optimism about the outlook
for the tourism sector this year.
