Valladolid dismisses coach Vazquez

Valladolid coach Fernando Vazquez has been fired due to a poor run of results which has left the Spanish league club in relegation trouble.

Valladolid said in a statement posted on its Web site Tuesday that the team's assistant coach Antonio Santos will take charge for the remaining four games of the season.

Vazquez, who took charge at the start of the season, has been unable to prevent Valladolid from slipping to 17th place, just one place off the relegation zone. Valladolid, which has gained just two points from a possible 18, last played in ...
