WASHINGTON, April 7 (Xinhua) -- The price of goods imported by the
United States jumped by 0.9 percent in March, reflecting the surging cost
of petroleum, the Department of Labor said here on Wednesday.
It was the sixth monthly rise in a row, taking the increase in import
prices over the past year to 1.2 percent, the department said in a report.

Oil import prices jumped 6.1 percent. Excluding oil, import prices
rose a more modest 0.2 percent.
