HP school leaders seek to cut costs

HIGHLAND PK. - Highland Park School Superintendent Theresa Saunders warned
that unless the school district cuts costs by 2005, it may be taken over by
the state.
"If we continue to operate as we are," Saunders told a meeting of residents
Jan. 22, "the school district will be in an operating deficit. The worst
case scenario is, if we can't turn around this school district the state
will take it over."
