Fed: Mawson station celebrates 50th anniversary

MELBOURNE, Feb 13 AAP - Occupants of one of Australia's loneliest outposts put the
champagne on ice today to celebrate a half century of continuous residence in Antarctica.
The nation's first Antarctic base, Mawson Station, turned 50 today with celebrations
in Melbourne, Hobart and points further south.
