Dharma scholars turn focus to Ganesha book

Nearly 80 religious scholars specializing in the study of Hinduism and
related traditions, from a number of countries, attended a conference on
Contemporary Issues in Constructive Dharma organized by the Dharma
Association of North America, November 21 in Atlanta, Georgia.

One unexpected topic that came up for discussion was the recent controversy
surrounding a book on Ganesha written by Professor Paul Courtright, which
featured a nude image of Ganesha on the cover.

The symposium-cum-roundtable conference was to provide a forum for scholars
