It's not that Marcello Giordani just seems to be singing a new role every other month. He really is.
The 40-year Italian tenor took on Arnold in Rossini's "Guillaume Tell" at the Paris Opera in March, then at the same theater in June sang Henri in Paris' first production since 1863 of the original French version of Verdi's "Les Vepres Siciliennes."
A month later he sang Calaf in Puccini's "Turandot" for the first time at Torre del Lago in Italy. Now comes the title role in the Metropolitan Opera premiere of Berlioz's ...
