The regional government of Spain's Balearic Islands, a top tourist destination, is considering taking over the iBanesto.com cycling team and luring German rider Jan Ullrich into its ranks, news reports said Friday.
Officials of the regional government in the Mediterranean islands met with representatives of iBanesto team Wednesday, the daily El Mundo said. The paper said the deal envisaged contracting Ullrich as team leader.
