KUALA LUMPUR, Wed. - Bar Council president Sulaiman Abdullah today said the Bar does not condone misbehaviour among lawyers but felt that contempt powers should only be used as a last resort.
He also said the Bar's proposal for a Contempt of Court Act was not intended to protect lawyers who misbehave.
Sulaiman said it was instead designed to draw up proper guidelines on the use of such powers.
