Sweetness Comes Home: $15 Million Walter Payton Athletic Complex Dedicated

When former Chicago Bears running back Walter Payton died a year ago of
bile duct cancer, the nation as a collective mourned his passing. Known on
the field as "Sweetness", the loss would be felt among sports fans and
dissenters alike. On the one-year anniversary of his death, many of those
mourners returned to the campus of Jackson State University, Payton's alma
mater, to remember the fallen hero and dedicate the $15 million Walter
Payton Athletic Complex.
