Blacks Want $260 Million In Case

Blacks who are charging a San Francisco-based Wonder Bread plant and its
parent company, Interstate Brands Corporation, with racial discrimination
are seeking $260 million in damages.

The slow-moving case that has been unfolding for weeks now before San
Francisco Superior Court Judge Stuart R. Pollack and a 12-member jury that
includes two Blacks (and a Black alternate) shifts day-to-day from a sleepy
soap opera to high drama. Some 21 Blacks have taken the companies to court.
