Tobacco Statistics Depict Grim Situation for African Americans
The American Lung Association's newest statistics on the ill effects of
cigarette smoking by African Americans paint a desperate picture of future
health trends, according to the nonprofit health advocacy organization.
The association finds tobacco use disproportionately strikes Black
Americans of all ages in surprising ways, from elderly smokers killed from
lung cancer to asthma sufferers and victims of Sudden Infant Death
Syndrome.
