A Philadelphia educational institutional that initiated as an all-white
boarding school for disadvantaged boys has contemporarily evolved into one
of the most renowned and influential school facilities for minority boys
and girls in the area.
Girard College is located at 2101 S. College Avenue in North Philadelphia.
It is a private boarding school for academically capable students from
grades one to twelve, from families with limited financial resources,
headed by a single parent or guardian.
