Hindu Parishad rejects initiative
A breakthrough in the Ayodhya dispute is likely July 6, the Sankaracharya
of Kanchi, Jayendra Saraswati, said.
The Sankaracharya has been, at Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's
request, working with Defense Minister George Fernandes and Finance
Minister Jaswant Singh to find a solution to the longstanding dispute
between Hindus and Muslims.
Their discussions had produced a proposal, which has been submitted to the
All India Muslim Personal Law Board.
